The addition of the world-class and wildly popular Oceanarium in the mid-1990s marked the beginning of a new era for the Shedd Aquarium. Also at that time, the City of Chicago unveiled an initiative to link the Shedd with the Adler Planetarium and the Field Museum in an expansive Museum Campus. Lipman Hearne was engaged to present the teams’ collective recommendations as a cohesive and compelling vision for the 21st century.
