With the brains of a nationally ranked research university and the heart of a small college, big things are within reach at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale (SIU). Helping to communicate this story to various audiences, Lipman Hearne partnered with SIU to focus its narrative and bring consistency to each of its communication touch points.

In October of 2010 Lipman Hearne began extensive enrollment and communications consultation services for SIU. The goal was to make an impact on enrollment in summer and fall 2011. As part of our work, we interpreted and analyzed existing research; conducted new research; helped define audiences, assisted in prospect pool-building, conversion, and yield activity; and developed a multi-year marketing plan. With increases in summer 2011 total enrollments and fall 2011 freshman and transfer enrollments, SIU has already begun to see positive results.

Now in our second year of partnership, we are collaborating with SIU's talented staff on comprehensive brand advancement and institution-wide enrollment management initiatives. The many communication tools we are developing include: a website overhaul (in progress), a suite of enrollment communications, online and traditional advertising, and public relations support. Featured here, the website and new viewbook embody the spirit, energy, and distinctiveness of SIU.
