Ruta has over 20 years of experience in the graphic design field. Her design production work spans a wide range of clients, including Achieving the Dream, Bryant University, Dominican University, the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Morton Arboretum, Sewanee: The University of the South, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and the University of Miami.

Prior to joining Lipman Hearne, Ruta worked primarily on a freelance basis in various areas of the design field, including package design and textbook publishing. She has done design and production work for clients including Kym Abrams Design; the American Dental Association; Foote, Cone, and Belding; Forward; Ligature; McDougal Littel; Quarasan; Joan Sommers Design; Source, Inc.; and the Chicago Tribune. Ruta’s illustration clients included Honda, Oxford Press, Penguin, Putnum Press, Quarasan, Rodale Press, Scott Foresman, Three Communication Design, and The University of Chicago Press.

Ruta holds a B.F.A. from the University of Michigan and an M.F.A. in drawing and printmaking from Northern Illinois University. She currently volunteers at Centro Romero, assisting in ESL classes for Spanish-speakers.
