Pete Boyle plays an integral role in Lipman Hearne’s education communications and public affairs efforts and has helped publicize and advance the agendas of his clients in the media, on Capitol Hill, with key publics and constituencies, and at the grassroots level. With nearly 20 years of public affairs and communications experience, Pete directs the firm’s Education and Advocacy practice. He manages clients including Achieving the Dream: Community Colleges Count, Complete College America, American Enterprise Institute, Lumina Foundation for Education, New Leaders for New Schools, the State Higher Education Executive Officers (SHEEO), and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for a Competitive Workforce.

For his clients, Pete provides expertise and counsel on message development, media relations, branding and marketing, crisis communications, market research, issue advocacy, and awareness building.

Before joining Lipman Hearne, Pete served as vice president and director of the higher education communications team for a Washington, D.C.-based communications firm. In this role, he managed public affairs efforts with a diverse group of organizations and institutions, including the American Association of Community Colleges, The College Board, Miami University of Ohio, Northwestern University, Princeton University, and West Virginia University. Pete has also helped lead several nonprofits and membership-based organizations through re-branding campaigns, including the Association of Corporate Counsel, National Collegiate Honor Council, Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, and the American College of Nurse-Midwifes.

Earlier in his career, Pete served as a political communications director providing counsel for candidates for the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, and ran campaigns for the Ohio State Legislature. Pete served as Ohio deputy press secretary for Clinton/Gore ’96.

Pete graduated from Stonehill College in North Easton, Massachusetts, with a B.S. in business administration with a marketing concentration and a minor in journalism.
