Title: Account Manager/Supervisor

Location: Washington office of Lipman Hearne

Reports to: VP, SVP and/or EVP Managing Director

Overview:

The primary responsibility for the account manager position is to work as a client leader in our health & wellness practice. However, we welcome individuals with diverse backgrounds and wide-ranging interests as we anticipate – and will encourage – opportunities that result in work across all client engagements including clients in health and healthcare, community engagement, education, as well as international organizations.

Business development will be part of your responsibility, but will be incorporated in a manageable way that ensures we continue to realize managed and meaningful growth.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

This individual is expected to serve as a day-to-day client contact with responsibilities and interests to include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • A public relations mindset and experience that includes an understanding of all available channels to reach audiences including traditional, mobile and social media
  • Strong writing and analytical skills that can be put to use to help our clients arrive at a strategic perspective that enables them to connect with their target audience in this changing media landscape (this includes the “writing basics” such as media relations and supporting communications materials)
  • A deep interest in integrated marketing, which includes experience in project management as it pertains to working with our creative and media departments on the development of messages, supporting creative materials and advertising plans
  • An appreciation for digital media and how the Web and mobile media are changing the way individuals secure information
  • A commitment to client service with experience in both account and budget management, including development of project work plans, timelines and budgets
  • The ability to work across a team, with the expectation being that this individual will develop deep and productive relationships across Lipman Hearne

Minimum Requirements:

The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and 5 to 7 years experience in communications and marketing with a strong public relations background. We are looking for individuals who like to work hard, have fun, are personally motivated and are able to multi-task.
