Managing Director & Principal Director of Marketing Research

Donna Van De Water has 17 years of marketing research expertise in support of product development, advertising, and marketing efforts for many of America's best-known corporations and institutions.
Since joining Lipman Hearne, Donna has conducted qualitative and quantitative research for such clients as Amherst College, the Annapolis Group, Ball State University, Chicago Historical Society, University of Cincinnati, Northwestern University School of Law, Chicago Council on Foreign Relations, Purdue University, DePauw University, Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, Lincoln Park Zoo, University of California Santa Cruz, McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College), Children's National Medical Center, Northwestern University (Medill School of Journalism), Pew Charitable Trusts, Sewanee: The University of the South, Naper Settlement, Ohio University, National Council on the Aging, Rush University Medical Center, University of Illinois-Chicago, Chicago Botanic Garden, Haverford College, Association of Fundraising Professionals, National Commission for Cooperative Education, Community Renewal Society, Wheaton College, WSUI/KSUI (Iowa City), Junior Leagues International, Trinity University, Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, and University of California San Francisco. These research projects have included image and positioning, publication development, admissions, alumni, identity, membership, needs assessment, and tracking.
Donna has a Ph.D. in psychology from Loyola University of Chicago. She also holds a Master of Management from Northwestern's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, where she served as a faculty member teaching research methods in marketing.
Donna is a member of the American Marketing Association, the Marketing Research Association, and CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education). She has published articles and presented for these associations as well as the American Psychological Association.
